About Board Candidates
A certain kind of person is required to serve on the school board. They must be passionate about public education and have a desire to enhance educational opportunities for all children in their community. They should also be willing to put in the time and energy needed to be a member of the public board. They should also have strong business experience and leadership skills to contribute to the board.
A board member’s resume should include a substantial amount of business experience, including the ability to comprehend the complexity of financial reporting and accounting processes as well as multi-tiered supply chains numerous strategic M&A transactions, and risk management and cybersecurity issues. Ideally, a board member should have significant experience in the fast-moving consumer goods sector or in a similar field with a background in the field of technology and innovation. A board member must have extensive experience in the field of enterprise leadership in the form of CEO or a higher-ranking executive of a large publicly traded company or in a similar role in the non-profit sector or in government.
